A South London based Local Authority Client has an immediate need for an experienced and qualified M&E Manager / Gas Heating Manager / Mechanical Building Services Manager to fill a 6 month + Interim Role withing their Building Services Gas Heating Team.

The supervision and deployment of, engineers, assistant team manager, supervisors and inspectors to programmes of traditionally procured and partnered M&E projects and contracts.
Ensuring the progression of all works in full compliance with Health & safety legislation
Managing the financial progression and reconciliation of individual projects within allocated programmes of work.
To represent the Engineering services manager at partnered core group meetings.
To act as 'council expert' or expert witness at court or tribunals regarding council matters.
To lead on special projects and direct and control Engineers on complex projects of engineering design and maintenance work.
Recommend and manage changes to procedure and strategy arising from monitoring and continually reviewing both the data management and the contractual process against the service plan and delivery objectives.
Ensuring the timely and regular provision of all relevant data to the capital and maintenance programme database and other asset management systems and databases. Ensuring the regular assessment and recording of work completed the identification of work necessary and the reconciliation of the two to a continuing assessment of the authority's programmes.
Consultation with Members, Tenants & Leaseholders on all aspects of Major Works programmes.
Leading on the planning and implementation of allocated projects or programmes of Capital and planned maintenance work.
Managing the collection of information relevant to agreed KPI's analysing the data and instigating corrective actions as appropriate.
To plan and manage the delivery of allocated improvement and decent homes work to council housing stock in the capital programme in accordance with defined budgets, authorities and procedures, directorate policy, agreed time scales, legislation and design codes of practice.
Manages up to 10 staff directly managed Staff. Manages up to 10 indirectly managed Consultancy Staff. Manages up to 100 indirectly managed Contracting Staff.

A relevant honours degree in energy /mechanical building services engineering, with 6 years post qualification experience of commercial and domestic heating. OR CIBSE or HNC/D in Mechanical building services Engineering with 10 years post qualification Experience in design of commercial and domestic heating.
A minimum of 2 years management experience.

Ability to work on own initiative, problem solve, prioritise tasks, take decisions and implement policies.
Ability to plan, manage and effectively co- ordinate the work of teams of mechanical engineers, inspectors, contractor & consultants.
Ability to devise and control a programme of works involving contract staff not directly managed by the post holder.
