Housing Options Officer (Homelessness)
We have an urgent requirement for an experienced Housing Options Officer.
The role is to ensure that all persons applying to the Council for assistance in resolving a housing problem receive comprehensive advice about the housing options available to them.
To prevent and resolve homelessness wherever possible by providing advice, support and information to those in housing need. Assess, advise and assist customers under relevant housing and homelessness legislation, and in accordance with Council policy and procedure.
Applicants must have at least 2 years experience in direct front line public or regulatory service or one year in front line housing or other related outreach services.
A high level of literacy, numeracy and verbal reasoning. Experience in dealing with conflict and advising on housing or regulatory issues. Experience of partnership working across the public, private and voluntary sectors. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative managing own caseload.
