An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Officer for our local authority client. The role is to undertake financial duties to help in the provision of budgetary controls and accountancy services for the Asset Management Group within Housing Services department.
Reporting to the Finance and Contracting Manager, the Finance Officer should have extensive experience of working in financial services and will have a key role in the monitoring of budgets, including benchmarking and value for money exercises, within Asset Management building division.
The role will include assisting in the following:
The provision of accountancy services within a local authority financial framework
The preparation and monitoring of financial budgets
The preparation of reports, business plans and procedures
The preparation of value for money and cost comparison exercises with specific relevance to building works
The use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Project, Publisher and Outlook and the use of corporate systems such as Northgate
Ability to interrogate in-house information data-bases in various formats
Our client is looking for someone preferably with finance based qualification such as AAT or equivalent or relevant experience in the financial industry.
